HanfordLearning.org invites you to join us over Martin Luther King, Jr. Day weekend at two events celebrating local passions: the outdoors and wine! We will have informative displays and staff available at the Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show and at Kiona Vineyards and Winery.
Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show
The Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show features a kid’s fishing pond, a free air-rifle range, the latest in outdoor equipment and services, free hourly hunting and fishing seminars, retriever demonstrations, and booths featuring conservation groups and local fishing guides who depend on a healthy Columbia River.
Look for the HanfordLearning.org booth to learn about Hanford cleanup and special event contests and activities for kids. Also visit us for a chance to win two free seats on a guided fishing trip on the Hanford Reach with Hester’s Sportfishing!
Shop & Share Showcase with Kiona Vineyards and Winery
For local wine lovers, we’ll have staff and information available at Kiona Vineyards and Winery during the Shop & Share Showcase. Kiona will be waiving tasting fees for anyone who purchases wine and offering 40% off of their 2011 Big Kiona Zinfandel! Kiona is not only a leading grape grower and winemaker; they also understand the importance of educating Washingtonians about cleaning up the Hanford Site and protecting the Columbia River for future generations.
Kiona founder John Williams worked as a metallurgist at Hanford before his family started Kiona in 1975 as one of the first vineyards on Red Mountain. Today he, his son Scott, and his grandson J.J. are growing grapes on over 200 acres of land and producing thousands of cases of award-winning Washington wine annually. Don’t miss this opportunity to visit a beautiful, historic location, taste delicious wine and mingle with HanfordLearning.org.
We hope to see you at one or both events!
